Introducing: Easier unregistration – without a full mailing structure

Feature Update
8th April 2026

We’re happy to introduce an update that makes unregistration simpler and more flexible. You can now enable the unregister feature directly on a category – without having to create a full mailing structure.

How this will help you

This update gives you more control and reduces unnecessary setup, while keeping your category structure clean and consistent.

Simpler setup – Enable unregistration directly on a category, without creating a mailing structure.
More flexibility
– Perfect for cases where you want to allow opt-out without managing full mailing flows.
Less administration
– Fewer structures to maintain, saving time in everyday work.

Built-in safeguards for consistency

To avoid conflicts and duplicate categories, we’ve added smart checks to the system:

  • If a category with unregistration enabled is later used in a mailing structure, the system checks for existing categories to avoid duplicates.
  • If unregistration is already active on a category, the option to create a mailing structure with an Event page is disabled to prevent conflicting setups.

How to use the feature

Getting started is simple:

  1. Log in to your Trippus admin panel and open an event.
  2. Expand the category you want to enable unregistration on by clicking it.
  3. Navigate to “Settings" and "Unregistration".
  4. Check the box to enable unregistration.

New Guidelines.
Better Experience.

These requirements aim to enrich user experience, fortify against spam, and enhance the overall security of email communications.

To begin with, domains like Gmail, Yahoo, and AOL will implement these changes, and we anticipate more providers will follow shortly.

This is what you got to do

If you are using noreply@event.trippus.com, we have already ensured the use of all three protocols mentioned below; these changes won’t impact you.

However, if you are using a domain other than @event.trippus.com, we strongly suggest configuring DKIM and DMARC for that domain.

What are the Email Standards?

3 key protocols to keep an eye on: SPF, DKIM and DMARC.

SPF

SPF stands for Sender Policy Framework and specifies authorized mail servers.

DKIM

DKIM is short for DomainKeys Identified Mail and it uses cryptographic signatures for sender domain authenticity.

DMARC

DMARC is an abbreviation Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance and it sets policies and provides reporting mechanisms.
